Prima build a page October

2014 October BAP Jennifer....
I received my new Prima collections in the post a couple of days ago and couldn't wait to begin creating with it! This is my first creation with the Seashore collection kit using Jennifer Snyders beautiful sketch above! It was lucky as I already had this circular photo cut and ready for a different project but had decided to go with something different, so I made the circle element my photo ...

Scrap the girls October Challenge

This is my layout for the October challenge over at Scrap the girls: http://www.scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/october-challenge-and-sponsors.html

I was very inspired by this stunning mood board, and was inspired by the theme of "shine on" as well as used the yellowy stars to represent the yellow glasses in number 3, the background for the colours in number 4 and the deep purple flowers and the colours in the photo to represent the flowers shown in picture 5!
Im so in love with the colours in this one!

Scrap africa October Sketch challenge

.....

I was so thrilled to see the sketch challenge (above) over at Scrap Africa this month! Its coming into summer here, and I just received my Graphic 45 By the sea and Prima Seashore collections this morning! I also added a few pieces from Kaisercraft collections and other bits and pieces I found to make this layout - which I am very proud of...

You can enter the challenge at http://scrapafrica.blogspot.com.br/2014/10/sketch-challenge-no36.html

Lets get Sketchy October Challenge #1

This is my entry for the first weeks challenge over at Lets Get Sketchy! I love doing simple pages for travel photos, and will probably do a second page to match this one with the rest of the photos....

My daughter and her friend were posing in a hammock they found in Thailand while visiting the caves.

You can enter this great challenge over at
There are some really awesome prizes!

Scrap around the World/ Lucky7Factory October chalenge

......

This is my entry for the Scrap around the world October challenge - using the stunning moodboard shown above! You can enter over at http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/october-2014-challenge-18-vibrant.html

I was inspired by a lot of things in the moodboard.... to begin with I was inspired by the quote about dancing to use a photo of my children dancing with the Thai dancers at a show in Bangkok. The photo also had fairy lights above reminiscent of the ones in the mood board, but I ended up cutting off the top of the photo....

I was also inspired by the jewel, gold and black tones on the butterfly to make the background for the layout. I sprayed the background with similar colour sprays and then stencilled over the top in black gesso. I added everything I had in deep jewel tones and sprayed some chipboard cogs in gold to layer under the papers. I added some sparkling ribbons and the last of my beautiful Inkido flowers (so sad that Inkido has finished up) and sprayed the layering with some more gold mist.

Last of all I added the black starry background behind the page  - the top is cropped off a little...

All in all its a very different layout for me, and I found it very difficult to match the tones in the inspiration photo! Wouldnt mind trying the same background directly onto black cardstock with a mask!

I am also entering this layout over at the Lucky 7 Factory.... This is another of my absolute favourite brands who are unfortunately closing down soon. Their Technologie collection is the only one I have found that works with alot of my night time/party/ disco photos with bright neon tones. They have 16 challenges going this month based on the wizard of oz and you can win their collections. This is being entered in Challenge #6 (Toto) the requirement is to add ribbons to the page. Stuck?! / Color me scrappy combined October challenge

This is my entry into both Stuck Sketches October challenge (http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/october-1st-challenge-and-little-extra.html)

and Color Me Scrappy October Challenge (http://color-me-scrappy.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/cms-challenge-71.html)

Both Challenges shown above.

It took me awhile to figure out what to do with this challenge... I dont have any "fall" photos, but eventually found this picture of Thai monks in my stash. When you give them food or money they sing you a blessing, all these tiny monks dressed in orange... It seemed to work well with the colour scheme!

Once Upon A sketch/ Pixels and Paper October challenge

Pixels and Paper October Inspiration

Above is my combined entry for the Pixels and Paper October Challenge: http://pixelsandpaperchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ and this months Once Upon A Sketch Challenge: http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com.br/2014/10/october-challenge.html

I started with the Pixels and Paper inspiration image. As Im not keen on scrapbooking teapots the challenge inspired me to use the closest thing - a teacup embellishment, and I had the perfect paper collection in Tildas "Garden Party" Collection. When I found the perfect photo to match the paper collection it happened to be an old shot of my sisters, from when we were younger. So I then decided to add in the Once Upon A sketch October Criteria of journalling about " The girls/ women in our lives" I wrote about how my sisters and I share a special bond and are always there for each other. I also followed the sketch from OUAS.

For the first time in a long time I actually managed to photograph my layout during the daytime, so I got a decent picture - aside from the fact that the layout was not flat due to all the spraying etc and so the right side does not look as straight as it actually is!

Sassy Scrappers September Challenge

September Moodboard Challenge

This is my last minute entry for the September moodboard challenge over at Sassy Scrappers: http://sassyscrappers1.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/september-mood-board-challenge.html

I was inspired by the photo on the bottom right, as you can see by my layout! When I first started scrapping I purchased thousands of these pretty heavily pre printed papers because they looked nice - not ever considering what the hell I was going to do with them.... So the real challenge for me was to do something with this paper of a lovely beach scene! Deciding to ' keep it simple' like in the moodboard involved adding only a tiny amount of beach themed embellishments. While I will never buy papers such as this one again, Im glad I did something with it finally! I think no matter how poorly I do in the challenge, the real winner is my never ending pile of scrapbooking papers lol

The photo is of my gorgeous fiance  - it was his first time in Australia, where we have 'real' beaches and he was enjoying the sun sand and surf at Bribie Island

Black with 2/ Artastic September Challenge

CURRENT MOODBOARDSEPTEMBER SKETCH

SEPTEMBER inspiration - Dominique Falla with TipografiaThis is my last minute entry for the September Black with 2 challenge (sketch and moodboard shown above) http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com.au/

I am also entering over at Artastic, where the criteria was to use twine/ string and draw inspiration from the artwork above (And I used a lovely piece of pink twine...) http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/

I started this layout about two weeks ago, and dont think I have ever had so much trouble making a layout work! I tried all kinds of embellishments and papers but just kept ending up with a big mess.... finally today I visited a friend and borrowed a little of her stash to make the best of what I had!

Very good to finally be uploading another dodgy night photo and putting this layout in the album....

Prima September Build a page

2014 BAP Keren

I love looking at the Prima BAP entries.... there are so many amazing scrapbookers out there! I always feel so outclassed the few times Ive entered, but I figure I can only improve so here it is. Unfortunately the camera on my phone seems to have a small blur on the right side, wonder if Ive smudge it or dropped the phone too many times....

This is my entry for the Prima build a page sketch challenge for September - using the beautiful sketch above and all kinds of prima products. I started off with my Fairy rhymes collection kit, because it matched the butterflies in the sketch but added alot from my lifetime collection papers. I also used Prima masks, stamps and bling.

While theres only one or two days left to enter - the challenge is over at : http://prima.typepad.com/prima/2014/09/ready-for-our.html#more so be quick!

123 September Challenge

The next layout victim of my nighttime photography.... This layout is for the 123 Challenge over at: http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/

This layout was half finished and sitting on my drawer, just waiting for that something missing.. perfect for adding a splash of khaki! The hidden journalling is on a tag under the photo on the right - my son was trying on suits for our upcoming wedding and posing for the camera - but nothing was quite right! Well except maybe the hat... The title says "Does this emphasize my charm?" (Unfortunately the camera on phone is just not too crash hot at night...)

Stuck?! September mid month sketch challenge

Might have to rephotograph this one with some better lighting tomorrow....However this is my entry for Stuck?! Sketches Mid September sketch challenge. I thought some of the design teams creations looked fabulous when they turned the sketch on its side and decided to go with the look, however as my photos are all 6x4 (My local officeworks has stopped printing smaller sizes grrr) I decided to make my layout a double page and Im really happy with the result.
You can find the sketch challenge at: http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.nz/

Lets get Inspired Issue 5 Sketch Challenge

I was having afew plays with this sketch and trying to figure out what to do.... Eventually I combined two half finished layouts into one and loved the result.... while my night time photography really sucks - this is my daughters rhythmic gymnastics team from a few years back  all dressed up and ready to compete.... The sketch is from Lets Get Inspired (Sketch challenge for issue 5)

Frosted Designs Friday Challenge

The challenge over at Frosted Designs last week was to incorporate graffiti into your layout... unfortunately I was sick with a nasty flu and missed the deadline on this one but had the perfect photo for it! This was my daughter posing with some graffiti last year. To make the graffiti I used a brick stencil with modelling paste and sprayed it blue, green, red and yellow over some very aged looking paper. I love the effect it made!

Scrap the boys September Challenge

The challenge for September over at Scrap the boys (http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/) was to scrap a photo of your boy/s being domesticated. I instantly thought of this photo from a few years back of Oliver at 3, playing at being a cook....

Scrap around the world September Challenge - Michelle, 3 months

My entry for this months Scrap around the world challenge....

Finally had enough time off to do a little scrapbooking..... I saw this months mood board over at Scrap around the world: http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/september-2014-challenge-17-magical.html
and fell in love.... While I initially started my project with fairies, and the related colour scheme of soft blues and pinks, the initial fairies never made it onto the page! Instead I filled it with flowers and my Clara from "The Nutcracker Sweet" papers by Graphic45. I also added a brooch with mimiced the feel of the binoculars in the mood board.
