Scrapmuch/ Sassy Scrapper November

I love Scrapmuch double page sketches! When I saw this one at the beginning of the month it reminded me of this series of photos of my daughters level 3 tumbling routine from a few years back. I love the way the setout captures the movements in order (although the size of the photos prevented it from quite flowing across the double page unfortunately!)

The sketch challenge can be found and entered over at: http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2014/10/sketch-y-friday-with-team-and-winner.html

November Moodboard Challenge

This was a quick double pager I made using the colours from this months colour challenge over at Sassy Scrapper. This American crafts paper collection was perfect for the colours!

Black with 2 November Challenge - A great escape

Thanks to Design team member Janet for showing us that Graphic 45s By the sea collection uses the correct colour combination!! I added a few other bits and pieces (tangerine is very difficult to find...) from my stash and followed the sketch. Show us your stuff November challenge

What a fun challenge this one was! It took me a couple of days to get it together, but Im really happy with the results, and managed to get rid of a few items from the offcuts bag too! I chose the word live (or close enough - I used LIFE as I wasnt looking at the list when I chose, I wrote 'life can be so beautiful with you') I used a rather large button chipboard Ive had sitting in my stash for way too long, I used stencilling with modelling paste, and with a pen, and then I added stamping too. I used a square photo of my daughter with a whole lot of hair chalk in..... I used some Prima handmade flowers, and handmade my own leaves to go with them!

White with one November challenge

ww1 freesia

This one is my entry for Novembers White with One Challenge - White with Freesia... I have to say that this one was a real challenge as this is definately not a colour I would choose to work with normally, however I managed to find a few bits and pieces in my offcuts bag that fit the colour and a photo to match! Took me awhile to match up a few stamps and get things in the right spot but this is what I came up with - And another positive, I think I used up all my freesia offcuts so I dont need to use this colour again lol

Scrap the girls November Sketch challenge - Win

I had alot of fun with this months sketch from Scrap the Girls! (above) While I didnt really have anything in my head for the sketch - after difficulty finding a single horizontal photo of girls it really started to come together. I used rich deep colours to match the photo, and got rid of a few bits and pieces from my offcuts bag! This was my first try at making pleated circles and Im very happy with the way this turned out!

Scrap around the world/ Scrap Africa November

Tonight I was so glad to see the new moodboard over at Scrap around the world! I love using moodboards for inspiration and this one just screamed of a vintage style collection such as Primas Time travellers memories collection which I ended up using. I also found two Sketches to use - I loved the current sketch over at Scrap Africa (shown above) as well as the one I used for below which was from last months challenge over at show us your stuff. I was inspired by the vintage theme, the colours of the flowers and the music notes.... I am entering the above challenge into the following challenges:

And this is my other layout!

Lets get sketchy October Week 4

Last night I decided to complete this layout using the sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy for October Week 4: http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.ca/2014/10/team-b-october-week-4.html
The photo matched perfectly with my Garden party collection, so I decided to make a very floral layout with loads of pinks and greens!

Lasting Memories #4, Paper secrets/ SWAT #42 October challenges

I decided to combine three Halloween themed challenges with my single Halloween photo from last year (It was the first time weve been trick or treating as Halloween isnt usually celebrated here but people are starting to get into it! My daughter was hilarious, whilst everyone else tried to look scary - Michelle had to be the "pretty" witch, striking a pose... I used the theme for week 4 over at Lasting Memories - which is "Trick or treat", the colour scheme from S.W.A.T (shown below) and the sketch over at Paper secrets (also shown below). Items used included:

Tree branches (on the papers)
Rounded corners (on the journalling tags)
Ink (around all edges)
Chandeliers
Kaisercraft - the thirteenth hour collection

Got credit? Lets get sketchy Week 3/ frosted Designs/ Lucky 7 Factory

I made this layout using a few different challenge criteria! I used the sketch (shown above) from Lets get Sketchy October week 3 - located at http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/team-october-week-3.html , I used the mixed media criteria from Frosted Designs: http://frosteddesigns.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/get-messy-with-our-friday-challenge.html
and I also used the Dorothee challenge criteria using different textures (see mood board) from the Lucky 7 Factory.... Textures include brick stencil, wooden railway lines, fluffy clouds and metallic sprays! You can find all 16 Wizard of Oz themed challenges over on their blog:

The photos are from when my son was small and he would just love to go through my bag and pull all of the cards out of my wallet to chew on!

And more again.....

Australian kit club Mad about Scrappin (http://www.networkedblogs.com/blog/mad_about_scrappin)
had a challenge going for October to use a song title on your layout - upon googling I discovered that come away with me, as well as being a stunning Graphic 45 collection, was also a song..... And the collection came with the perfect colour scheme and title for these lovely Thailand shots... Theres a couple of days left to enter by submitting your layout to their facebook page!

This layout is for the current challenge over at Scrap Africa - http://scrapafrica.blogspot.com.br/2014/10/list-it-challenge-no37.html

as well as the lasting memories week 3 challenge - http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/lm-213-lists-lists-and-more-lists.html

The challenge is to use a list (with at least ten items). As a friend and I were having a look at her new project life cards we found this one, which had spots for "The top 10 places to visit" This was a great excuse to combine the journalling card with all kinds of bits and pieces from my offcuts pile, and some random travel shots that never mad the final cut for the layout of that place/day etc. It was also a good excuse to think back to the times when I was able to travel and how fabulous the places listed were! By the way my top 11 (so far) were:

Ayutthaya, Thailand
Budapest, Hungary (The labyrinths under the castle were fascinating)
Lake Bled, Slovenia (and Predjama castle)
California, USA (Disneyland!!!)
Rotorua, New Zealand (Natural hot spas and the fascinating volcanic history and scenery)
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Id love to live on a houseboat)
Saas Fee, Switzerland (stunning car free village between 4 alps and summer skiing)
Stockholm, Sweden (Cant go past those gorgeous Swedes, and their equally gorgeous city)
Lightning Ridge, Australia (The essence of the outback, and loads of opals to scavenge)
Cairns, Australia (The barrier reef is amazing, and so is the weather)
Munich, Germany (Oktoberfest, and close enough to the stunning Neuchwanstein castle)

Cant wait to see the rest of the world one day... perhaps when the kids are grown up and not so damn expensive!

Sketch and scrap first October sketch challenge

Layout Sketches due October 31st

Today I was inspired to play along over at sketch n scrap: http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com I started with the sketch above, however my layout turned out a little different!  I decided to do a winter layout using Authentique papers, and a cosy photo of my fiance and I......

S.W.A.T October drill

I really loved this moodboard, and found it so inspiring I might try again to get the look I wanted! I was inspired by the black and red sugar skull, and the general layout

Kaisercraft/ Scrapmuch October

This is my entry for two October challenges..... The Kaisercraft week 2 challenge was to create a layout about something funny. It was difficult to find a funny photo that matched the current collections but then I found this one! The photo was taken  at the grand opening of yogurtland where we had a photo taken with our free dessert, however the photo was using a green screen, and all three of my children had managed to be wearing green! It made for a rather unusual shot....

I created the layout using Kaisercrafts Tropical punch collection, some Kaisercraft cardstock and some Kaisercraft stamps!

I used the sketch from Scrapmuch Week 3 (shown above) to design the layout....

You can enter both challenges over at:

Frosted Designs/ Berry71Bleu Fall Challenge (October)

Tonight I decided to play along with two very  complementary challenges! The moodboard challenge over at Berry71bleu (shown above): http://berry71bleu.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/october-challenge-falling-for-autumn.html

The Frosted Design criteria included using fall colours, ink and bling, which complimented really well with the moodboard! I combined DCWV Photoreal seasons papers with Graphic 45 Place in time and steampunk spells to create this project. It uses ink sprays on the background, and bling on the corners of the photo!

Scrapmuch Sketchy Friday

This is my layout for the second Sketchy Friday challenge over at Scrapmuch (shown above) As usual I stretched out the sketch to make a layout of these bright pictures from the pedlars fair a few years back. The kids loved shopping with their money coupons and making something to sell. Our friend made Thai sticky rice with coconut and the girls put it in bags and boxes to sell!

Stuck?! Octoer 15th Sketch challenge

This is my entry for the second monthly sketch challenge over at Stuck?! My best friend and I tackled this one together, using all the same items with slightly different results! I followed Laura from the design teams lead and rotated the sketch.

Autumn 2014 Create To Live Challenge

This is my entry for the MME October sketch challenge (Sketch above).  I rotated the sketch and stretched it to a double page to accommodate 6 x 4 photos. The sketch was alot of fun to work with all the circles and he big arrows. I used my Spread your wings and fly collection kit and some photos my brother in law took while we were on holidays last year!

I am also linking up over at My Sweet Earth "Think outside the box" challenge (also shown above). I kept to the colour scheme from the moodboard and I also thought the sketch with the circles fitted the outside the box theme.

13 Arts October challenge #23

Was so excited to receive my parcel of 13arts goodies this morning! A perfect day to work on the 13Arts challenge for this month....

Jelissa has come up with an awesome challenge- which includes using only white cardstock and embellishments, and all colour must come from paint/ inks/ mists etc. You also need to use a black and white photo and song lyrics or title. I used the lyrics from "Boys of summer" as my journalling.

I have to admit I took a little creative licence with this one, as my photo is more sepia than black and white, and my chipboard started off as, well chipboard colour... and I threw in a very pastel sticker from my new faces of spring collection  -  but below is the initial layout, before spraying anything and before adding a few extra small flowers that arrived in my 'romantic garden' kit...

I am also entering over at Scrap around the world again (my third try haha), as the moodboard has really inspired me this month with the colour choices of deep blues and purples with green, pink and gold on a white background, just like the butterfly!!

The challenge is at http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/design-team-mid-month-reveal-october.html

Lastly I am entering over at Lasting memories:
http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ for their "anything goes" challenge. Just because I am so happy with this one I want to share it around!
