Lasting Memories October!!!

Wow, cant believe we are this close to the end of the year... it just keeps racing by! Today at Lasting Memories opens the first of our October challenges. The theme for October is 'hot hot hot' and the requirements are: sketch/ liquid glass and a campfire theme. Wow this was really tricky for me - I had never heard of liquid glass and had to go back 15 years to find any campfire photos.... (As a single parent of 3 I have never really been able to go camping, tents and lighting campfires are in the too hard basket!!)

Below is my version, and the sketch! Dont forget to come and play - you have until the end of October...

Lets get arty September Challenge

Whilst browsing my favourite challenge sites this month I came across this beauty over at Lets get arty:

I just love the inspiration picture - its gorgeous!!

It was also very perfect for the album  I have been working on - showcasing my last trip to Sweden, with loads of photos of their stunning forests and scenery.... Below is my double age entry inspired by the picture: (Unfortunately I cannot seem to get decent photos as I cant find my camera battery charger and my phone always makes blur on the right side!!)

Lasting Memories #259

This week we have a fantastic challenge going over at Lasting Memories!!! The challenge is to use ink splatters and mixed alphas - my mixed alphas are a little difficult to see in this pic, but I titled it 'by the sea' and added a whole lot of fussy cut flowers and ink splatters! Make sure you come and get your entry in by the end of the month!!

Stick it down September double page

Yay, another day  - another month - and a lovely new double page sketch from Stick it down... My other favourite double page sketch site!

This months sketch was a little unusual, and completely perfect for the floral Sweden album I am currently making.

And my version (I know I need to avoid crummy nighttime photography but I make them and I just want to show everyone now!!!):

Scrap the girls September

This was one of those nights where, as I perused the new challenge blog sites for September I cam across one that I just had to do right now.....

The current album Im working on is from our holiday to Sweden last year and Im combining elements from 3 different collections to try to fit a combination of forest, city beach and tropical photos in!

Anyway after a very travel themed album I had previously been working on, Im really enjoying making this one a lot more floral and pretty and I came across the sketch challenge over at Scrap the girls - I knew it was perfect....

Instead of the journal card I used two photos, and stretched it over two pages (Im liking my albums much better all coordinated...) and here is the finished layout!
I had these two photos from when we went to pick raspberries... the girls were dressed up all Swedish with their pastel cardigans, pretty dresses and Heidi plaits - they were so cute!!! We pretty much lived on raspberries with vanilla sauce for a month

Techniques, titles and a new album!

Nothing like the beginning of the month for a scrapbooker.... Finding all the newest challenges and deciding which photos and sketches I will be able to complete for the month!

Luckily I had a lovely scrapping day yesterday with my bestie. We had scones with jam and cream, tea and a new album to start! As the previous album I have been working on was very "travelly" and linear I think I will enjoy this one, which will be a lot more floral...

The first layout I need to show everyone, however is for the newest challenge over at Lasting Memories

The theme for this month is " techniques and titles", and the first challenge requires MIXED MEDIA with A BOLD TITLE

Here is my first layout for the month:

I also found this fantastic challenge over at Artastic this month.... It is to use the inspiration picture below to create your layout. For mine I was inspired firstly by the sand and sea, secondly by the exotic location - I tried to exoticise my layout a little with the pink peacock background paper...

And over at Pixels and paper was this lovely floral inspiration challenge:

which inspired the following very floral layout!
