Scrapmuch Sketchy Friday January #3

This sketch was just perfect for showcasing one of my rather large photographs.... When I purchased this set the shop was offering 8 x 10 enlargements for the price of normal prints so I took advantage and printed the entire set. Most of them were scrapbooked years ago but I still had this one of my kids singing karaoke....

LM #226 - Anything goes (lifes moments)

For this layout I used a sketch from the scrapbook store (below) and the requirements for Lasting Memories #226 - Life moments (anything goes). This is a rare picture of  my daughters getting along and having a cuddle!

CSI 152/ Sketch n scrap Twistback Thursday/ Lets Get Sketchy January Week 1

For this double page layout I decided to combine two single page sketch challenges with this months CSI colour scheme and requirements.

The colour scheme and theme was inspired by CSI #152. I didnt think I would like using the colour scheme but it actually looks quite nice together! You can enter at:
http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/forum/topics/case-file-no-152-case-closes-on-january-25-2015

For the first page I used the Twistback Thursday #1 Sketch from Sketch n scrap. The Teresa Collins nine to five papers are new, the scallops are from my old Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection (over a year old)
You can enter the challenge here:

For the second page I used the week 1 sketch from Lets Get Sketchy found at:

Lasting Memories #225

For this weeks DT assignment over at Lasting Memories the required theme was "Lifes lessons". I had to think long and hard about photos that would capture one of these times, but one morning I woke up and remembered these pictures, which I have attempted to scrap any times but they just never quite came together right!

The photos are my daughters at about 2 and 3, after them being too quiet for awhile I entered the bedroom where they were playing, only to find them with a pair of scissors and a nice pile of each others hair.... I nearly died - I had only recently up my eldest with a child modelling agency, relying on her lovely long blonde tresses, and here were both of them hacked up so badly it couldnt even be fixed.... Michelle had half a bob on one side of her hair and poor little Aelira went from long and white to pieces hacked up to her scalp, and everywhere in between, with most of her hair being about ear length.... Im sure you can see the guilty looks on their faces! I was furious. The picture on the left shows how they looked after I attempted to fix their hair.

The lesson learned in all this? As the title states: Leave it to the pros..... Michelle never picked up those scissors again, however unfortunately Aelira ended up with several more hack jobs and alot of trouble before she finally gave up her self hairdressing career!

If you have a lifes lesson to share,  come and join us over at Lasting Memories this month!

Show us your stuff January

I actually began this layout with this months sketch from Stuck, but played around with it for days, and just could not make it work! Today I was browsing challenges and saw the sketch over at Show us your stuff, and decided to rearrange the elements to the alternate sketch - and finally ended up with something I was happy with! Unfortunately I made a bit of a mistake with the ink, but oh well, cant take that one back!!

This photo was of my kids at Hogs breath, using one of their Hawaiian themed photo boards, if we posted a photo tag on facebook we would get a discount, so here we were.... The papers are mostly American Crafts with a little Teresa Collins  thrown in, and some Heidi Swapp embellishments. I handmade my own circular embellishments (well actually I showed my fiance how to make them for me lol)

Cest magnifique, Off the rails January challenges

I was very inspired by the January moodboard (below) over at Off the rails, I dont think I have used this colour combo before, but really love the effect! I tried to stay as close to the moodboard as possible with the colours and themes..... I decided to combine the challenge with this months sketch from Cest magnifique (below) and was lucky enough to receive the perfect circle frame in the mail just this morning as a prize from Scrapmatts - they make some amazing pieces!

123 Challenge January

My entry for this months 123 Challenge - I found the perfect quote for a picture of my sweet, sleeping son at about 3, who is growing up far too quickly (He turns 8 next month!) I added plenty of lemon, and made myself a folded embellishment with a clock face!

I mixed papers from 13arts, Kaisercraft, American crafts and MME for this layout

A mini album for me!!!

I spent all of December making some albums for my sisters, and was so pleased with the results I wanted one for myself.... So I made sure we took plenty of Christmas photos so I could design my own for Christmas 2014.

PAGE ONE: SCRAP AFRICA SKETCH CHALLENGE JANUARY

For my first page I interpreted a sketch from Scrap Africa found at:

http://scrapafrica.blogspot.com.br/2015/01/sketch-challenge-no-42.html

My fiance from Sweden  celebrates Christmas on the 24th, and I really didn't need much excuse to open the presents earlier! I used the four squares for the photos and stretched the sketch to two 8 x 8 pages....

PAGE TWO: LASTING MEMORIES- CAPTURED MOMENTS

My second page is a DT assignment from Lasting Memories, this weeks theme is "captured moments". Perfect for these photos of all of us unwrapping presents as we capture - the look on everyones faces as they discover what they have received!

LM has a "life moments" theme this month with 4 different challenges you can enter at the following site:
http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com

PAGE THREE: Lets get Sketchy Week 3 January

I turned this weeks sketch (below) sideways and stretched it across two pages. We took some family photos with my mother in law on christmas morning, and she supplied some Christmas bush to bring to my mothers.

You can enter over at: http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/team-january-week-3.html

PAGE FOUR:  Picture this January 1st challenge

The first official challenge over at Picture this requires one photo, a starburst and paint. I managed to include all of these in my next album page. This is my kids at 3am, after discovering Santa had arrived when they got up mid morning for the loo. My daughter must have been really good because she got everything on her Christmas list..... Here she is proudly showing them off after running in to wake me and let me know she got a robodog that does backflips.

Picture this is a great new challenge site - and it even has some free sunburst cut files.... you can join in over at: http://picturethischallenges.blogspot.ca/2015/01/jan-1st-picture-this.html

PAGE FIVE - SCRAPMUCH JANUARY SKETCH #1

There are so few sketches for double pages, I had to use this one from Scrapmuch! This page is all about Aelira, showing every present she got from grandma this year - she was looking cute with a green ribbon stolen from the wrapping paper....

You can enter this double page sketch (shown below) challenge over at:
http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2015/01/sketch-y-friday-with-team-a-guest-and.html

PAGE SIX: SCRAPMUCH SKETCHY FRIDAY JANUARY #2

Another Scrapmuch sketch (below), I love this site! So many great sketches to use....this one I stretched and put some photos of Oliver unwrapping his gifts...

You can enter at: http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2015/01/sketch-y-friday-with-team-b-and-our.html

PAGE SEVEN: LASTING MEMORIES #228

This weeks theme at Lasting Memories is just perfect for my Christmas album... Im sure that the food is a major part of everyones Christmas celebrations! For this weeks challenge "Sweet as can be" I decided to use this picture of the gingerbread cookies my kids decorated for Santa (and for the rest of us as well)
Its also a perfect excuse to showcase some more of my Graphic 45 Nutcracker sweet collection...

Sweet cookies, sweet kids and sweet collection! Think I nailed it....

Make sure you drag out all those photos of cakes/ sweets or christmas feasts and come and join in over at Lasting Memories this month!

Blog hop!!

Hello and welcome to our very first challenge for 2015 at Lasting Memories! We're celebrating the new year and new Design Team with a blog hop. Super fun right?! If you're just starting the hop, be sure to start at Lasting Memories so you don't miss anyone - if you're last stop was Claire then you're on the right track!
Our challenge theme this entire month is "Life's Moments" and our first challenge is "Life's Simple Pleasures" .. we want to know what one of your simple pleasure's in life is. Chocolate? Coffee? Adorable children, pets or grandchildren?? SO many things to consider and we're excited to see what you create! What's my Simple Pleasure??? Here, let me show you!

The simple pleasures are often the only ones you get as a busy parent so we sure make the most of them! I have decided to create my layout about cuddles. This picture was taken a long time ago (my daughter is almost 11 now!) and those lovely cuddles are very quickly running out so I decided to scrap one before they become a distant memory - (they sure dont happen in photos anymore!) I hope you have enjoyed my contribution and those of the rest of the design team!
Your next stop is Kimberly and when you're all done visiting the new Design Team, we really hope you'll have time to join the fun! All our challenges run for the entire month, so you have time to play! Thanks for stopping by today!
