Stuck/ Lasting Memories

 

Its Sunday, and time for the final challenge of the month over at Lasting Memories! This month has been all about food, and this one is titled "Food selfies" I know a lot of people who post a few of these on facebook - but lets see them printed out and scrapped!!

My eldest daughter is definately a character when she gets hold of a camera.... She loves taking selfies and has a fantastic cheesy camera grin. I combined the photo with this months sketch over at Stuck Sketches and my newly arrived Rose cafe collection from Bobunny.

Stick it down February

Bobunny February Sketch

 My new Rose Cafe collection arrived a couple of days ago, and it is truly stunning! This is the second layout I have made so far - now just have to find some pictures to match! (Off to officeworks to do some mini prints....)

Scrapmuch/ 123 Challenge February

 I was very inspired by the marbled primary colours from this months 123 challenge! So I decided to try to recreate the effect with inks... This is the background I ended up with! The red softened alot on mixing with the other colours so I matched it with a slightly more peachy red in my papers.... I combined it with a sketch from over at Scrapmuch?! this week and found a photo suitable for the word duo and the added glitter (I framed each patterned paper in glitter glue...)

Lets Scrap #2-11-15

I recently discovered a new sketch challenge site - hosting my all time favourite double page sketches!This gorgeous sketch is the February challenge over at Lets scrap, and below is my take on it.... My little sister is having a baby boy soon, so I have been working hard on creating a baby album for her. I have used a mixture of Kaisercrafts Bundle of Joy and MME Portobello Road, which I think look stunning together (I didnt have too much of Portobello Road left as I loved it so much)

For my valentine

Its really nice to see so many heart themed sketches around this month! I have decided to use a few to create a Valentines album for my fiance - especially since he is all the way in Sweden and we wont see each other now for 11 months until the wedding.....

This challenge was rather appropriate.... with this months song being "Whenever, Wherever" it describes our relationship only too well. As he lives in Sweden and I live in Australia, we dont see each other too often. But despite the times and distances, we are definately meant to be together.... For the challenge I included a little cutout map of Europe and Australia as well as the quote
"Whenever, Wherever, today, tomorrow and forever"

XOXO/ Pixels and paper February challenges

 

Although its not ENTIRELY the beginning of the month, I have finally had a little scrapbooking time the last few days so have been doing my customary beginning of month challenge site blog hop looking for inspiration. The image above is this months picture inspiration over at Pixels and paper... I saw it and fell in love - then thought, pink, blue, postcards, Paris. Graphic 45s "Come away with me" collection in a nutshell.... I wanted to a nice double page with a travel theme so I went looking for a suitable sketch. Eventually I found this months scraplift from XOXO scrapbooking. It is " The shard" by Kimmy. It was perfect for the right side of my page and I decided to elongate the elements to make my version.

 

And so: my final version. Pink, blue, postcards and the word Paris mixed with elements from the shard.. Whilst I put some photos from New Zealand on it for now, I will probably change it to some suitable photos from Europe later. I didnt stick the photos down!

My creative sketches January

 

I saw this sketch and just plain felt inspired... I have been playing with October afternoons mint julep collection and I just did the sketch, without a photo in mind. My layout had a very old fashioned feel, so I added a photo from my own childhood - I was about ten and clearly very fashionable!

Cest Magnifique February challenge

 

This sketch from Cest Magnifique really came together easily once I got going... I used some papers from October Afternoons mint julep collection, and a photo of my daughter after having her hair curled....She is always so self conscious, believing she is unattractive but after a family friend did her hair and took these photos she has really treasured them, and finally believes she is attractive (at least in these photos!) Really happy with how this one worked out!

What an interesting sketch over at Lets get sketchy this week.... I just had to have a go! I am also entering over at Frosted Designs, as this fortnights challenge is "direction". As I stuck quite closely to the sketch and kept the sky and clouds, the direction definately represents going up...

Scrap the girls February

Yesterday my fiance returned to Sweden, so back to the scrapbooking at night for me! I really fell in love with this months moodboard ( below) over at Scrap the girls. So many stunning design elements in different shades of green..... I pulled out a bunch of different greens and made myself a variety of stamped and fussy cut embellishments to use. Unfortunately I couldnt quite find a spot for a lot of them, including the vellum balloons, but I managed to create a double page with these green photos! I did, however manage to get some stamped dandelions on the left page.... Now I have a nice pile of green themed embellishments and papers stacked up I might just make a few more similar!!

Lasting Memories #227 - Green cupcakes

The theme for this month over at Lasting Memories is 'food for thought'. This week is all about our favourite foods and recipes. I took these photos last year, while the kids did some baking. The first thing they did was turn the batter green and get sticky and icky.....
