Here is the sketch:

Firstly my DT reveal:

The grid is around the journal spot.... I have been meaning to get these photos scrapped for years and so glad to finally have them done!!

Scrapmuch/ Off the rails April

Latest Mood Palette

This week I decided to combine two challenges. I fell totally in love with this months colour palette over at Off the rails and wanted to give it a go, green, pink, sparkles and all.... I had the perfect glitter paper to make it work. I combined it with the first sketch for this month over at Scrapmuch and made a double with some photos from our Melbourne Cup dress up a few years back! Although I did find some photos with green in them that matched the papers alot better I decided that these fit more with the theme. I used several elements from both mood boards including circles, parties, limes, and eye make up (I was wearing extra that day in an attempt to cover up a black eye that my baby boy gave me when he headbutted me the day before - ouch!)

Sassy scrappers/ Scrap africa April

For this challenge I was inspired by the pastels over at Sassy Scrappers. I saw the shades of blue going down the page and wanted to give it a go.... It didnt quite turn out like how I had planned - but thats mixed media I guess!! I chose a photo with a strong blue and pink, and matched up a few papers I found in my offcuts bag in various pastel shades with a strong gold element to reflect the gold in the moodboard. I was also inspired by the paper garlands from the moodboard and decided to add them to the side. I based my layout on a sketch I found over at Scrap Africa which was absolutely gorgeous!!

April challenge mix

Finally uploading this layout - it has taken a few days to complete! (Partly because I couldnt find the photos I wanted to use and had to do a nice big tidy up!) I was inspired by a few different challenges for this one, as well as by the amazing Ebony Van der Starre - I paid close attention to one of her tutorials over at 7 dots studios!!

I started with the March challenge at 7 dots studios. Part of the challenge criteria was to use 7 dots studio products with a "nature" theme. Well I didnt need alot of prompting to begin using one of my absolute favourite paper lines "Destination unknown". I decided to combine the challenge with this months mood board over at Scrap around the world and use some pictures I had from a gorgeous white chalk and pebble beach in Denmark. They fit both the beach and nature themes. I mixed the sand and surf colour scheme with the deep turquoise in destination unknown and loved the result. From 7 dots I used Destination unknown tags, words and die cuts as well as the line elements mask.

I pretty much always start with a sketch to guide my placement of elements. I decided to make two layouts to sit in my album as a double.
The first is from Stuck?! April 1st, the second is from Lets get sketchy April week 1

And here are my layouts:

For lets get sketchy (right)

For Stuck?! (left)

And combined:

I am also entering at Scrap our stash for April. The challenge is to incorporate items beginning with the letters  S.T.A.M.P. I included:

Stamps and stars
Tags and thongs
Arrows and anchors
Mists and masks
Patterned papers and polaroid frame

Studio Fourteen Forty Colour challenge

I noticed that Studio Fourteen Forty was sponsoring one of my regular challenge sites this month, and decided to pay them a visit. I discovered a whole lot of amazing flairs, chipboard and masks - and ones that coordinated with my beloved 7  dots studio "Destination unknown" - very cool.... I also noticed that they had their own colour challenge running! Make sure you go and have a look!!!

Well I love a good challenge - and I love it even more when their products coordinate with my other favourites! So here is the mood board and colours...  The colours reminded me of  my Heidi Swapp "Hello today" paper pad - which encompasses all these colours except purple. So I found a photo to match, and created a layout around it!Unfortunately, these photos had one horizontal and one vertical picture, which I think always look awful together on a single page - so I cut them to be squares in the same size, but the originals had a white border so it looks a little odd haha.

Scrap the girls April/ Stick it down

I so look forward to the first of the month .... all those new challenges and Im like a child at Disneyland trying to decide which ride to take - or which challenge to do first, trying to work out if I will be able to fit them all in! This month one of the first to catch my eye was the amazing mood board over at Scrap the girls. I loved those bright jewel colours, but also immediately saw the spools of thread and fabrics in the mood board and knew exactly what I was going to do. I have had these photos printed for awhile and purchased the spools of thread paper to go with them awhile back but just hadnt been entirely sure what to do with them. I decided to try to find a sketch to work from and found this double pager over at Stick it down which worked for the number and orientation of photos I had. As I had a fair amount of the fabric that she was using to make clothes for her Barbies and it had rolled itself up I decided to roll them into a spiral and use them on the layout. Also, for the first time ever I used my sewing machine - and added stitching. Im only about 5 years behind the trend lol.

So glad I finally got this lot scrapped - its always nice to accomplish something you have put off for awhile....

New sketch at Lets Scrap plus April challenges

1st of the month means a new sketch challenge over at Lets Scrap - this one is just beautiful. I loved it so much I made three layouts from the sketch!!!!
Here is the amazing sketch: Make sure you come and play along this month - the challenge is sponsored by Creative Embellishments with a fantastic prize available.

This is my DT layout - made using Graphic 45s Tropical travelogue. Below are some layouts I made for other challenge sites.

The challenge this month over at Another freaking scrappy challenge is to use some older stash. On this layout I used some extremely old baby boy stickers on the bottom of the layout. I also used some leftover MME papers from a few years ago to make the banner and an old Prima rhinestone flourish flower at the top. Feels good to use a few things that have been sitting around forever! This layout is going to my sister for her baby due in June!!

The above layout I created using the Easter pastels challenge board over at Show us your stuff. Graphic 45s Baby to bride collection mixed with some fussy cut Kaisercraft flowers were perfect for the soft colours.  I made some tags for the handmade embellishment. This moodboard is just stunning - dont miss playing along with this one!!!

Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

Part 2 - A blog post showing three recent projects I have created showcasing Kaisercraft collections less than a year old including: a layout, a beyond the page project and a mixed media project or card.

This was actually very tricky, as I tend to use collections all over the place old/ new and in between and I almost never use a collection on its own - I tend to mix them between manufacturers, product lines and all over the place. I did, however recently create a baby album for my sister using MOSTLY Kaisercraft (I'm a little late to create completely new projects for all three requirements!!!)

Whilst I do have a DSLR camera, I rarely use it for layout photos as using my camera phone is easier and I am often scrapping with friends and will take a quick shot before puttig my work in a album - however I am perfectly capable of dragging it out when I need to for more professional type work... Unfortunately these pictures were already taken so I cant quite showcase my better photography here!

For the first requirement (layout) I am including two layouts from my sisters baby album. These were created with predominantly the stunning "Bundle of Joy/ Pitter patter collection" along with an older (fussy cut) floral sheet from the "Forget me not" collection.

For the second requirement I have chosen a recent mixed media project I created. The majority of the project was created using a mixture of Kaisercrafts "check in" paperpad and "Wanderlust" collectibles.

Now the third requirement was really tough.... I don't generally make much beyond the page for a few reasons, being that I live in the oldest and smallest fibro shack you can imagine... we simply dont have the room nor the money to add a lot of decor nor do we ever entertain guests! I also rarely make off the page mini albums, as they are not 'sleeved' and my kids can be fairly rough with these kinds of things. They are a little damageable for my liking.... however in the spirit of a design team call from my favourite brand I am giving it my best shot at creating something new very quickly!

I was recently inspired by a mini album project I recently saw created by Jane Tregenza - a graphic 45 project with popups, tabs, booklets, pockets and all kinds of amazing elements. I have decided to draw inspiration from the project and create something similar using my recent Kaisercraft 'North pole' collection. The pockets would be great to hold Christmas gifts etc

I wish I had a little more time to really make something amazing but doing my best in an evening! This is the first page of a North Pole mini album with a little popup reindeer and a gift pocket.

Red carpet studio challenge - Ella enchanted

I was rather happy to see this challenge over at Red carpet studios.... I love fairytale themes and I also love using up my stash..... Everything on this page came straight from my scraps and offcuts bag except the title!

Lasting Memories April - Mystic Mountains

Not quite a new month but theres a new challenge theme over at Lasting Memories. This month its all about travel... Perfect theme for me as I have been rather busy with the travel pics lately. I have been trying to complete an album on my last cruise with G45s tropical travelogue and one on our last trip to Thailand using G45s Come away with me (Thinking I need a lot more of it too!)

The first challenge of the month is 'Mystic Mountains' - and boy do I have the perfect photos for it! These pictures are from the last Thailand tour my sister arranged (She is an amazing tour guide - she runs very cheap Thai tours throughout rural Thailand - the places most tourists will never see!) and on this tour we visited a Thai temple up in the mountains. This place was amazing - so beautifully decorated in mosaics and amazing views.

I hope you can come and join in this month!

XOXO/ SBC 433

SBC_Sketch433

When I saw Kerrys layout over at XOXO Scrapbooking this month I was thrilled to find a way to use a whole stack of tiny triangle offcuts I had leftover from making banners. I had these large photos leftover from my cruise pictures and even though they are very blurry I wanted to include them as they showed the cruise disco. I made a second page in a similar style, using a sketch I found over at SBC this month.

Scrap our stash March challenge/ Another freaking scrappy challenge

While challenge browsing this week I cam across this lovely sketch by Karen Gerber, over at Scrap our stash! I have been mostly been making double pages lately - for my cruise album (which is only a few pages away from completion yay!) but I really wanted to give this one a go so I decided to make it as the first page... As per the challenge I added a few gold flowers and arrows. I also decided to play along over at Another freaking Scrappy challenge. I used to play along there all the time then it finished up, but it must have come back.... very exciting!!! The challenge for this month is to use blue. Of course my tropical travelogue themed paged are using a little blue - and for this one I added even extra.....
