Scrap the girls April/ Stick it down

I so look forward to the first of the month .... all those new challenges and Im like a child at Disneyland trying to decide which ride to take - or which challenge to do first, trying to work out if I will be able to fit them all in! This month one of the first to catch my eye was the amazing mood board over at Scrap the girls. I loved those bright jewel colours, but also immediately saw the spools of thread and fabrics in the mood board and knew exactly what I was going to do. I have had these photos printed for awhile and purchased the spools of thread paper to go with them awhile back but just hadnt been entirely sure what to do with them. I decided to try to find a sketch to work from and found this double pager over at Stick it down which worked for the number and orientation of photos I had. As I had a fair amount of the fabric that she was using to make clothes for her Barbies and it had rolled itself up I decided to roll them into a spiral and use them on the layout. Also, for the first time ever I used my sewing machine - and added stitching. Im only about 5 years behind the trend lol.

So glad I finally got this lot scrapped - its always nice to accomplish something you have put off for awhile....

  1. Gorgeous layout. Great take on the sketch for sure. Love all the colours and embellishments. Awesome that you used fabric and thread. It really draws your attention to the theme of the layout. Your sewing is great. Zig zag stitching is an embellishment in itself. Thanks so much for joining us at Stick It Down.
