Another freaking scrappy challenge May 1 - I wished to be a firefighter

I thought of a few different ideas for Another freaking scrappy challenge May 1st challenge - What did you want to be when you grew up... My kids have had some wacky ideas which I have intended to document for some time but eventually I decided to keep with the spirit of the challenge site and make a layout of myself. At about 13 I joined the rural fire brigade, I was sure I was going to be a firefighter..... I put on the uniform, learned the equipment and put out a raging fire or two in the brigade parking lot. But I have to admit I was only there for the cute 10th grade boys! The layout was slow to come together as I dont exactly have alot of firewoman embellishments, but a fireman words sheet and some homemade flames and ladder seemed to work ok. I originally had the layout on a black and white background and it was quite cartoony but then I had a brainwave, pulled up my sticky tape, and paired it with this photo background: Giant eucalypt by Birch craft (photographer Greg Honeyman). I like the quirky effect it gives it!

  1. Well: you did a great job even without many embellishments for this subject. The layout is very interesting.
